Things I have learned at Guadec
Many people, I’m sure, want to get an insight into life with the LUGRadio folks. This is some things I have learned;
As I explained to Mirco Muller, who seemed shocked, LUGRadio happens whenever 2 or more of the hosts get together – the show is just the subset of that time when they press the record button. When there is 2 or more of them together then it’s just one continuous show whether anyone is recording or not (and this is one of the reasons their show is popular – because it’s just them, being natural, having a laugh, without any airs or graces or pretense).
Sleep is not allowed
These boys know how to party
They show absolutely no shame in accosting anyone with opinion, questions, and comments on their code/blog/attitude, and then ask for a photo
Jono and Aq are the jammy-est SOB’s alive. After refusing to leave the party at 3am in time to get the last bus back to the campsight (because there was more beer to be drunk), the somehow jammed a lift back from a kind frenchman (also at Guadec) who took pity on them and
gave them a lift.
I’m doing my best to stay awake and enjoy the talks today – somehow I haven’t fallen asleep yet. At the moment we’re in the middle of the lightening talks. Loads of interesting stuff; tagging with leaftag, pitivi, diva, jackfield and more.
